Description

Ranked No. 1 when the season tipped off, the 1981-82 University of North Carolina Tar Heels were true to their billing, disposing of Atlantic Coast Conference foes with relative ease en route to the school’s first NCAA title since 1957 and the first in the illustrious career of Dean Smith. Headlined by ACC Rookie of the Year Michael Jordan and March Madness MVP James Worthy, this souvenir basketball is autographed by (15) members of that hardwood juggernaut. The “Game Master” ball features a Tar Heels logo and alternating white and teal panels. Signatures have been executed in fiber tip marker and average (“7”) strength against the dimpled surface. Includes: Jeb Barlow, Jimmy Black, Jim Braddock, John Brownlee, Chris Brust, Matt Doherty, Cecil Exum, Bill Guthridge (coach, signed in ballpoint), Michael Jordan (“6” strength), Timo Makkonen, Warren Martin, Sam Perkins, Buzz Peterson, Lyn Robinson and James Worthy (“6” strength). We note that the fully inflated ball has sections of leather cracking/separation, minimally affecting the signatures of Braddock, Brust and Worthy. Full photo LOA from JSA.
